The Historical Value Of Vkhutemas In Construction And Forming, And Its Enlightenment Of Chinese Contemporary Architectural Forming Education

This thesis paper combs the historical development and teaching practice of Vkhutemas (Higher State Artistic and Technical Workshops of Soviet Union) systematically during the decade of1920to1930.It mainly concentrated on Vkhutemas’ exploration and creation of educational training in constructing and forming and recreated its historical value and influence as the other origin of modern architectural movement besides Bauhaus. The paper probed that Vkhutemas’forming ideas and training techniques have the great referential meaning to basic forming of Chinese contemporary architectural education by gathering the objective data of current status of Chinese contemporary architectural education and contrasting with Vkhutemas’ teaching method to quest the differences and deficiency between the two education styles.
