As one of the important electric equipments, induction motors are widely used invarious areas from commercial manufacture and agricultural industries to our daily lives.It is necessary and economically significant to monitor motors real-time and understandthe motor operating conditions in-time and accurately. Traditional motor monitoringsystems were mainly8-or16-bit single-chip. Their logic opertation ability is limited, andtheir real-time and safe realibility of the monitoring system are poorer. With the rapiddevelopment of computer technology, monitoring technology, and embedded technologies,many advanced methods have been arising in the motor detecting and monitoring.Emergence of32-bit high-performance microprocessors and embedded systems makemotor monitoring system become miniaturized, intelligent, network direction. This paperputs forword a motor monitoring visualization system based-on embedded system, whichcan acquire the data of the motor voltage and current in real-time and do on-line statemonitoring.In this system, the S3C2440A chip is the core microcontroller, which is the ARM920Tkernel microprocessor of the Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Linux operating system is thesoftware platform. The motor monitoring visualization system is built up from hardwareand software. This paper, for hardware design, mainly discusses the various hardwaremodules. For software design, it narrates the construction of embedded Linux operationsystem, then writes and modifies the Linux operating system and system-related driverprogramme. This project mainly accomplishes the programming of A/D converter’s driverand LCD drivers, the system migration of embedded SQLite database and embeddeddevelopment platform—Qt GUI, the development of system database and Qt graphicalinterface, and the applications of data-sampling, FFT analysis and so on. A friendlygraphical user interface is provided as well.
