With the development of photovoltaic technology, the proportion of PV installed capacity in the grid is increasing rapidly. More and more independent and grid-connected photovoltaic power plant will be or already up and running. PV power plants are mostly built in remote areas, and run unattended due to the remote location and blocking traffic. Therefore, the real-time operating parameters collection, operating status monitor and operational benefits evaluation have very important significance to ensure PV power plants safety and stable operationIn this thesis, combined with remote monitoring technology, a PV power plant data acquisition system which consists of PV string box, environment parameter detector, the PV inverter communication unit, photovoltaic concentrator and monitor software is designed to collect the operating parameters as well as the meteorological parameters. The parameters are sent to photovoltaic concentrator by RS485, summarized and uploaded to the host computer through GPRS, so that the power plant staffs can analysis and process them. The thesis highlights PV string box and environment parameter detector data acquisition, as well as realization of data communication with photovoltaic concentrator.Combined with all subsystems used in actual application environment, the mature industrial-grade sensor is selected, the signal interface and regulating circuit between the MCU and sensor is designed, and the data acquisition procedure for each sensor node is written in the data acquisition; In the data communication, the thesis has completed designs of the RS485and GPRS interface circuit, and the data communication procedure. Finally, through the data acquisition and data communication experiments, the desired function is successfully achieved, the system feasibility and practicality is verified. The PV string box has been successfully applied in "20MW grid-connected power generation project in Golmud".
