With the development of China’s economy, the construction of urban rail transit has entered into a fast development period. By the end of2011,14cities have been completed and put into operation of urban rail transit and the operation mileage has reached1714km.28cities are building urban rail transit with a total length of2000km. More than400lines are planning to construct by53cities. So the construction and operation of urban rail transit become a networking system. The transfer station plays an important role for the entire line network and the transfer efficiency of transfer station will directly affect the efficiency of the whole network.The current capacity of the facility is idle for the greater facilities capacity than the need of actual passenger traffic. In addition, due to the lack of facilities design, the transfer stations congest seriously during the peak time. Because of the service level reduction caused by the mismatching of facilities capacity, the security incidents could be easily occurred, and it will impact the transfer time. Whether the transfer facilities are reasonable, the transfer facilities ability match the need, and the facilities service levels can reach the need of pedestrian are the key issues of transfer station design and operation. This paper will research the capacity match between transferring passageway facilities from the walking time which the passengers go through the transfer passageway facilities.This paper analyzes the relationship between the pedestrian traffic characteristics and pedestrian flow parameters at urban rail transfer station from the perspective of the mutual influence between the pedestrians and facilities. Combined with the design of transfer station facilities and the influencing factors of capacity, the paper makes a detailed analysis to the influencing factors on the capacity match of transferring passageway facilities.On the basis of analysis of the capacity influencing factors, the article takes walking time as evaluation index to evaluate the match of the transfer facilities capacity. Take Beijing Guomao Subway Station for example and combine with field research, a function of walking time is obtained with the use of mathematical methods. Besides, the article takes walking time as a supplementary basis of the facilities service level. The simulation travel time is set as evaluation index. Use the VIS SIM simulation software and obtain simulation time through the calibration of simulation parameters after contrastive analysis.The paper makes four combinations of simulation using the VISSIM simulation software, including the up and down floor escalator and stairs. By analyzing simulative travel time through the various facilities with different width of facilities in different passenger flow and combining with of the evaluation index of the capacity match, the article determines the width ratios of the facilities when the passenger flow reaches the facilities capacity, and provides a reasonable compatibility scope of theoretical ability to the design of the transfer passageway facilities in the peak hours.
