The western developed countries have gradually developed from service economic toexperiential economic during the information era, with changes taking place for consumersbehaviour and value generated. The consumers are no longer satisfied by standardized andmass production of goods and services, instead they are pursuing for more customizedexperience which hence the experiential economic is introduced.During recent years many China cities are introducing experiential marketing and this hasbecame a trend as a combination with commercial property. According to study somemetropolitan commercial centers in China have more than70%customers visited forentertainment, travel and leisure purpose, while the rest are attracted solely for shopping.Therefore some commercial developer has attempted to create various featured or themedshopping mall for more customers attractions as an endeavor to achieve highest benefit for thebusinesses. This has became a major approach in R&D of new shopping malls as this alwayscreate a shopping experience accommodating the customers mentality demands which bringsmore enjoyable perception.Therefore this article is mainly focused on design of experiential experience for shoppingmall which divided into6sections to elaborate from the issues encountered during the designprogress to the final proposed solutions. Section1and2are introduction of the experientialshopping concept with further definition of its characteristic and consumers behavior analysis.Section3will then scrutinize the appropriate above mentioned shopping space andcharacteristic, followed with design theory and methods for the shopping mall in section4.While section5is the conclusion of experiential shopping mall design strategy, is thusproposed in with hope to provide some handy concept and methods for the designer’sreference. And the last section6is the case study of successful experiential shopping malldesign in China and other countries in conjunction with the previous mentioned designconcept.
