Urban drainage systems are very essential infrastructure for a city, which have an effect upon the normal operation and the ecological environment of a city. So, the construction of drainage monitoring and scheduling system could achieve the linkage of the various pumping stations and energy saving, and schedule the drainage and sewerage pumping stations scientifically and rationally, and also which is in line with national energy saving and emission reduction requirements.Urban drainage systems in Hefei are extremely complicated; the monitoring points are much decentralized and monitoring range is too large. Thus, it is very difficult for cable laying. In this paper, the GPRS wireless communication technology is proposed to be used in the project, in order to achieve the remote real-time monitoring of the various sub-pumping stations.This paper first introduces the present status of water supply and drainage system in Hefei, and the expected overall objective of the construction of drainage monitoring and scheduling system, after proposing that using GPRS technology to monitor the data transmission between the center and sub-pumping stations, and then offering the system configuration diagram. After Introducing the overall structure of the GPRS system, the logical structure of the network elements and interfaces, several transmission protocols and networking solutions are discussed and compared, and finally selected protocols and networking solutions that are best meet the actual demand. The system is consisting of front-end data acquisition device, GPRS DTU and the monitoring center server management software. Front-end data acquisition devices will be collected field data transmitted via the RS232interface to the GPRS DTU, the DTU to find the IP of the monitoring center through the GPRS network address, and establish a communication connection to transfer data. Of this study, to establish a communication connection to send and receive data, and after receiving data, processing and storage of data, including the equipment used in GPRS DTU GPRS DTU and the monitoring center server software, parameter setting, the development of communication protocols, server management software design, database and storage strategies.This article is based on the mobile communication network, and put GPRS technology into use in the drainage monitoring and scheduling system, which exert the trait of low cost in operation of GRPS, and solve the problem of too much monitoring points, and the difficulty in laying the wire line. Through management software in monitoring Center server, achieve remote monitoring and management of various pumping equipment. This system not only can be applied to the drainage monitoring and scheduling system, and also after modified, but also can be applied to street patrol, energy consumption monitoring system, which has broad application prospects.
