The Association Between Facilities Planning And People’s Travel Activities

This dissertation focused on planning situation on supporting facilities and people’s travel behavior including travel distance, travel mode, travel frequency and residents’ opinions around residential areas. The planning situations on supporting facilities including five kinds of commercial facilities were grasped by researcher. Besides, residents’using features and their opinions on these facilities which they used were summarized in this dissertation. Based on the view on resources economizing, energy-saving and ejection-decreasing, the evaluation system on facilities planning were given as the guidance for residential planning.Different kinds of residential areas in Hefei were selected for field trip and questionnaire research. Supporting facilities including medical, educational, Cultural&Sports, community service and bank&post office were selected from all supporting facilities as research objects. Also, five kinds of commercial facilities were picked out from all commercial facilities as research objects. The five were: Clothing Store, Beauty Salon and Commodity Shop. Field trip and questionnaire methods were employed for collecting data. Then, qualitative method was used for analyzing these data.At the end of the dissertation, the problems on supporting facilities’planning and also five kinds of commercial facilities’planning around residential areas were summarized. Then, residents’travel features on these facilities were also concluded in this research. The association between facilities’planning and residents’travel behavior were analyzed in this dissertation. At last, some suggestions on residential supporting facilities planning were given by researcher.
