The concept of Digital Earth was put forward by American vice president Gore in1998,while in recent years, the application of this technology has greatly exceeded people simagination. It is estimated that Digital Earth will enter thousands of households and everywalk of life, just like computers. As a important industry related to national economy andpeople s livelihood, water conservancy is developed gradually towards digitizing andinformationization under the background of Digital Earth technology. At present, waterconservancy in China is in a period of vigorous development, with more and more attentionpeople paid to water resource, digital water conservancy will provide a new direction for thedevelopment of water conservancy.Digital water conservancy is a kind of technology guided by the concept of sustainabledevelopment, using a serious of technological skills which regard the information technologyas the core, developing and using water conservancy resources deeply and widely to improvethe efficiency of water resource using. The information technology includes visualizationand simulation, database and data mining, and decision support expert system,"3S"technology, and the ā€œ3Sā€ technique is the supporting technologies.This paper is based on water project three-dimensions visualization and informationmanagement, trying to use the developing3s technology and space database technology, todo some design work for the Yellow River Longkou water conservancy project. At first, thepaper try every means to gather all the basic geographical data and special data needed, thenusing the software such as ArcGIS to edit, transform and delete, after that using3ds Maxsoftware to do three-dimension modeling for the dam construction. About the design of thedatabase, this thesis classified the various data first, divide the database according to thetypes of the data, using GeoDatabase as the spatial data model, Then the author designs andputs in storage the basic geography, grid images, water conservancy field andthree-dimension model data separately, at last realizing the unity of management, query andscan of the geographical space data and water conservancy special data.
