Research On The Evaluation Of Urban Buses Quality Of Service Based On Extension Method

Urban public transport is the important part of transportation service industry. With theacceleration of the urbanization and motorization, giving priority to the development of publictransportation is one of the most effective measures to solve urban transportation problem.Since the subject status of the bus priority is established, public transportation in China hasmade great development. But compared with the developed countries, it is backward ingeneral. It can’t meet people’s increasing traffic travel demand and affects the urbandevelopment and the quality life of people. Especially the urban buses are influenced bytraffic congestion on urban roads. Its service level is hard to meet the demands of residents.Therefore, to evaluate the service quality of urban buses has an important practicalsignificance.The paper deeply analyzes the urban buses quality of service combined with thesystematic exposition of the existing problems of urban bus on the basic of the evaluation andstudy of bus service quality at home and aboard. It constructs scientific and practical urbanbus service quality evaluation system from the three aspects of technical performance, serviceeffect and socioeconomic benefits. The indexes are quantified and explained. This paperanalyzes the applicability of Extencis to urban buses quality of service, and uses AHP todetermine weights. Then it constructs combined evaluation model of urban buses applying theExtencis. Combining the current situation of the Xi’an buses, the paper applies this newmodel to comprehensively evaluate Xi’an buses quality of service.
