Multiple functional engineering vehicles involved in this paper is mainly used for municipal maintenance. The design of this vehicle means to realize multiple functions with one modular car and reduce types or volumes of vehicle needed for municipal maintenance. The performances of engineering vehicle play important roles in municipal engineering.Especially with front and rear multiple arms, the overturning performance of engineering car is highly demanded. As result, analysis and research of anti-rolling performance and adoption of advanced designing method is effective to design creation.Virtual prototype technology is used for creating design of multiple functional vehicles in this paper. The main research is as following:1.The domestic and foreign development of special purpose motor vehicle is introduced. The theory of dynamics of multi-body system and the virtual prototype simulation software ADAMS used in this paper is traduced.2.Based on the Multi-function engineering vehicle project and analysis of construction and design requirements of this vehicle, the virtual prototype of engineering car is built by using Solidworks and ADAMS.3.The anti-rolling performance of engineering vehicle in limit operating conditions is simulated and calculated.4.With the stability coefficient obtained from simulation, the overturning performance of engineering vehicle is checked and validated.By using modern CAE software, the overturning performance of engineering vehicle is analyzed and researched.Theory is combined with practice.A reliable method to research on overturning performance is provided. The analysis results provides necessary reference for engineering machinery design.
