| Poly-clan is the main structure of China’s rural areas, based on which differenthistorical contexts, customs, national characteristics and local styles have beendeveloped. However, there are still many problems in the China’s rural construction,which are as follows. For one thing, the construction of village is lack of overallplanning idea, based on family unit and makes one family own several houses, whichmake the shortage of arable land more and more severe. For another, the rapiddevelopment of tourism produces a considerable impact to the remote village thatwith abundant culture resource; the increasing number of outsiders and the developedeconomy make the rural youngsters look forward to urban life. As a result, colorfulsmall villas with different styles can been seen in traditional village, and traditionalinhabitants develop in a disorder way without former historical track. The issue ofhow to inherit and develop traditional advantages and how to build living and workingenvironment that maintains local feature and meets the demands of modern life hasbecome a hot topic of improving the quality of rural life and a pressing problem ofbuilding new country.This paper summarizes traditional clans’ characteristics and constructiontechniques through analyzing the causes and characteristics of traditional clans ofMiao Minority in Xiangxi area. On the basis of this research work, the paper proposescorresponding measures of improving safety, adaptability and energy-saving, newhousing patterns that can meet the needs of families with different numbers based ontraditional culture and structure of family, and recommendations of improving facadestyle from height, materials and constructing way for Miao Minority. In a word, thepaper provides rural areas with a reference to maintain and develop the traditionaladvantages. |
