The airborne electromechanical system is a general name for subsystems that ensure theflight security, it is the fundamental guarantee for the safety of aviation. Stringent demand isneeded owing to the development tendency of airborne electromechanical systems towardsintegration and intelligence, which brings a growing development risk and increasingtechnical difficulty. In order to reduce the risk and improve the quality, it has becomenecessary to carry out simulation experiment in the system development procedure with theapplication of the semi physical simulation technology. The topic of this paper is based on a certain aircraft electromechanical managementsystem simulation test task of an Aircraft Design and Research Institute. To meet thesimulation test task demands of the electromechanical management system, this paperproposes a method to set up an emulator of mechanical and electrical subsystem with theapplication of Virtual Instrument, whose hardware core is the National Instrument PXIindustrial computer. To validate the function of the electromechanical management systemmonitoring and control each subsystem of mechanical and electrical subsystems, the emulatorof mechanical and electrical subsystem completely replace the actual hardware of themechanical and electrical subsystems to provide simulation incentive to the electromechanicalmanagement system. In the paper, the research background and significance of the emulator of mechanical andelectrical subsystem is briefly described. Then this paper analyses the research status and thedevelopment tendency to complete the simulation test with the application of VirtualInstrument in aerospace field in the domestic and overseas, introduces the concept, featuresand advantages of the Virtual Instrument and LabVIEW. And a detailed analysis of theelectromechanical management system simulation test task requirement determined theemulator of mechanical and electrical subsystem design scheme. This paper describes theemulator of mechanical and electrical subsystem hardware connection and software implementation process in detail. The kernel hardware of the emulator of mechanical andelectrical subsystem is the National Instrument PXI industrial computer with some PXIboards, the software development platform is the graphical programming developmentenvironment LabVIEW developed by the National Instrument. At last, this paper introducesthe emulator of mechanical and electrical subsystem debug and test procedure, and analysis tosolve the problems encountered during the process. The emulator of mechanical and electrical subsystem accomplished in this paper hasbeen applied to the simulation test of a certain aircraft electromechanical system of an AircraftDesign and Research Institute, its functional and technical specifications in line with thepractical application, and achieved good results.
