With the continuous development of embedded technology, its application in the field of industrial control gets more and more attention, and plays an important role. Because of a variety of advantages in embedded systems, ARM processor becomes the most influential of the microprocessor in recent years. Speed control system is one of most which are widely used in the automatic control system. Because the rapid development of microelectronics and power electronics technology in recent years, the DC speed control system develop to digital and modular, and even the realize all-digital DC speed control system. Design and develop the control system of DC servo motor control based on ARM is a relatively new field of DC servo motor control, is also the trend of DC servo motor control development. Therefore, the thesis designs and develops DC motor speed control system based ARM, and provides authentication for ARM’s further application in servo technology.DC motor speed control system takes ARM processor as the controller, also includes a man-machine interface, the DC motor unit and its drive module, the load and the driver modules. ARM controller get the error signal from the speed which is got by A/D, and then calculate it by some arithmetic operations, last, control DC motor speed via D/A to achieve the purpose. In addition, ARM controller can also set the load by D/A, to study the static and dynamic characteristics of DC motor speed control system under different loads,In the thesis, firstly, given the overall design scheme; Secondly, designed the hardware, including the ARM processor and its basic circuit, DC motor and its drive circuit, the DC tachometer generator and the sampling circuit, the load module and its driver circuit. After set up the hardware in the system, carried out ARM program design, including linux system migration, yaffs2file system migration, hardware device driver migration, human-computer interface design. Last, research and design the digital controller, using a more advanced method named single neuron PID control algorithm.
