The main reasons affecting bearing capacity of reinforced stone arch bridge havebeen summarized after over50reinforced stone arch bridges being researched. Followingresearch results have been made out through establishing an valuation method of carryingcapacity of reinforced stone arch bridge based on sensibility research of above reasons.①The main reasons affecting bearing capacity of reinforced stone arch bridge areconcrete strength, new added concrete cross section size, fall off of mortar and steel platecorrosion.②Concrete strength, new added concrete cross section size and steel plate corrosionare sensitive factors affecting reinforced stone arch bridge. The height of normal fall off ofmortar is sensitive factor affecting reinforced short-span stone arch bridge but not formedium or long span bridge.③An assessment method of bearing capacity for reinforced stone arch bridge ischaracterized as follows:1) Automatic weightings alteration, which can fix weightings according to the orderof part deduction, is suitable for every kind of stone arch bridge.2) Convergence property of default degreeof single part and all parts,if the defaultdegreeof single part is more serious than that of all parts,the carrying capacity of wholebridge converge to degreeof single part; if the default degreeof everyone is proporationalthe carrying capacity of whole bridge converge to average value.In this way,the evaluationresults can reflect carrying capacity of structure more exactly.3) Part deduction is order-independency, deduction system is nothing to do with thenumber of disease in the system,so the evaluation process simple and easy,4) Reference qualitative description of bridge maintenance in Code for Maintenanceof Highway Bridge and Culvers and the research, evaluation results of reinforcementeffect isdivided into4grade.④Comparative research, which is made through traditional assessment and thismethod of bridge bearing capacity towards five stone arch bridges, proves that the resultof this assessment method for stone arch bridge bearing capacity accords with actualsituation and is reliable, which finally validates its feasibility for real project.
