The brake is a device to make the velocity of the machine decrease or make the machine stop running. That it has good performance is an important guarantee for the safe production.So accurate brake test system and convenient test equipment are important research topic at present.Currently brake test system is commonly composed of a lot of instruments,everyone of that achieves one measuring function., so the purchase of equipments is too much and the cost is too high.Because every instrument works independently,so they can’t share data and manipulate data unifiedly,the degree of robotization is low. Virtual instrument technology realized the unity of a lot of measuring function and solved the problem of data acquisition and processing.And frequency conversion technology improved automation degree of control system,made it possible to develop automatic test system.This textbased on frequency conversion technology and the test-bed of brake performance test,used the graphical programming software-LabVIEW to study automatic brake test platform that can realize multiple performance test. In the test system,we use the frequency converter to simulate the load of a range of power,it realized automatic loading and can simulate the real working condition of brake. According to the principle, composition, functions and features of brake test system, we designed the hardware part of the test system and developed the software program.The research result shows that, this brake test system can automaticly control performance testing and running condition of drum brake and disc brake,and analyze the measured results and output them. The brake test system compared with traditional test platform can better simulate the real working condition of brakes and environmental conditions, and more realistically reflect the performance of brakes and shorten the development cycle.
