Tread brake can change the output signal of the braking control system for the force to wheel tread, then product the indirect force in order to ensure the running safety.In China, Locomotive and Car Research Institute China Academy of Railway Sciences, Sifang locomotive and rolling stock Institute, Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute have carried out the research work on test system for tread brakes. But the function is not perfect. Most of the braking system imported from abroad, and the test bench for trade brake are mostly choose foreign’, which makes the using cost increase. Foreign trade brake system supplier, such as Faiveley Transport, Knorr-Bremse, have developed test bench for trade brakes. The test bench uses many advanced control technology, including pneumatic control systems, precision and force sensors, pressure sensors for closed loop control system.For accurately detecting the tread brakes’function and technical performance, we need a set of test and measurement equipment. The test system of tread brake must be able to accurately detect all properties, in order to ensure the tread brake mechanical and physical properties and q products’quality of. It is very important to the entire locomotive braking system and even the traffic safety of train transport.This thesis is based on the braking system for HXD2B electric locomotive’s tread brakes as the test object. The researched campact tread brake derives from Qingdao Faiveley SRI Rail Brake Co.,Ltd. Involved test specification refer to the relevant national standards and Qingdao Faiveley SRI Rail Brake Co.,Ltd’s product standards. The test system is developed through the using of computer control and pneumatic control.The main goal of this research is to determine the test items and related test procedure and complete the test system’s overall design. Determine the technical requirements and the performance parameter. Design the gas path system and the electrical system. Complete the selection of the circuit’s key components. And analyse detailedly the composition and working principle of the circuit. Build the test bench’s key pneumatic components and pneumatic circuit model by using the AMESim software. And analyse to verify the design of test system is reasonable and feasible. At last, In order to make the test device can automatically collec,organize,archive data,print and generate test report, design the test device software system by using Visual Basic 6 programming software.
