At present, energy and environmental issues have become the most intractable problems ofthe countries in the world. With the development of the society, the utilization rate of the airconditioning system will gradually increase, then a reasonable allocation of air conditioningsystem will play an actual role on reducing energy consumption and reducing the carbon dioxideemissions. In this paper, we will take an actual project for example, to explore a practicalenvironmental protection optimized analysis mode on engineering design and operationmanagement, and to select the optimal units configuration for the building air-conditioningsystem, so as to achieve an energy saving and environmental protection running route.This article is based on the the random meteorological model Medpha to get Wuhan hourlyoutdoor dry bulb temperature of yearly8760hours. On comprehensive consideration of thebuilding envelope structure, personnel, equipment’s working and resting, as well as airconditioning running time to establish the building’s mode, and to select DeST energysimulation software to calculate the system load of the air-conditioning system, thus to get thebuilding instance’s hourly building load.According to the maximum cooling load value,which is calculated on simulation, and inaccordance with the HVAC design specification requirements,we can create multiple sets ofdifferent air conditioning system equipment configuration. In order to clearly state the researchideas, we can select two sets of air-conditioning system device configuration program forcomparative analysis on the practical engineering example in this article. Configuration I isequipped with a centrifugal chiller, Configuration II is equipped with three screw chillers,tobuild the mathematical models of the air conditioning units’ different types under the twoprograms. Then to calculate, under certain flow conditions, the hourly energy consumption valueand the energy costs of these two programs,which is caused by the hourly changes of the coolingwater temperature and the chilled water temperature. By the two programs’ chiller’s hourlyenergy consumption,we can calculate the carbon dioxide emissions which is caused by the chiller’s energy consumption. Through the comparing of the annual energy consumption andcarbon dioxide emissions, we can determine a certain set of air-conditioning systemconfiguration program. Similarly, in accordance with the ideas of this research, we can select theoptimal set of programs among N different sets of air-conditioning system equipmentconfiguration by using the computer simulation method.Through the research of the calculatation motheds of hourly energy consumption of airconditioning units,to solve the common problems on low precision of energy analysis onbuilding’s air-conditioning system, and to provide a theoretical basis for buildingair-conditioning energy consumption calculation and program comparing. Hoping to providepractical engineering science compare ways for the future equipment optimized configurationand building energy-saving evaluation through this research.
