Study On Variations Of Seedling Traits In Liriodendron Chinense Provenances

In this paper, the seed trait, seedling growth trait, biomass, leaf character, the nutritive element content in different organs and the survival rate of the8Liriodendron chinense seed resources were studied to get the following conclusions:(1) The average germination rate of different Liriodendron chinense seed sources is0.94%, the highest one is source from Jinping of Yunnan (2.75%), the lowest one is from Maoershan of Guangxi (0), the seed wing length, width,1000-seed weight, plumpness and germination rate among provenances were significant differences or extremely different. By research the relationship between the different character with longitude and latitude, climatic factors, there was negative correlation between longitudes, latitude with the seed wing length, width,1000-grain weight, plumpness. With the kind of seed wing length, width and between latitude with the1000-grain weight correlation coefficients reached0.05significant level. There was insignificant positive correlation between the Annual mean temperature with seed wing length, width, length to width ratio,1000-grain weight and plumpness. Annual mean rainfalls shows Insignificant weak positive correlation with the with seed wing length, length to width ratio, plumpness, and insignificant negative correlation with seed wing width and1000-grain weight.(2) It was found in research that the growth patterns of height of different1-year-old provenances were showed the significant "slow-fast-slow" growth rhythm and similar to’S’ curves. By utilize the Sequence Cluster Method to divide the seed growth stage to juvenile stage; early growth stage; rapid growth stage and late growth stage. The Wuyishan provenance went into fast growth stage most early and shows longest duration (41days); The Lushan provenance went into the fast growth stage latest and shows the shortest duration in this stage (21days).(3) In seedling stage, the seedling height, fresh leaves weight and organ dry weight exists significant or extremely significant different between different sources. The analysis result shows the longitude, latitude shows the insignificant negative correlation with the organ fresh weight, leaves dry weight, and insignificant positive correlation with seedling height, ground diameter, root dry weight, stem dry weight, leaves dry weight, gross weight. The Annual mean temperature shows the insignificant positive correlation with seedling height, organ fresh weight, stem dry weight, leaves dry weight, gross weight; and insignificant negative correlation with ground diameter and root dry weight. The annual mean rainfalls exists the significant or extremely significant negative correlation with ground diameter, root dry weight; and insignificant negative correlation with seedling height, organ fresh weight, stem dry weight, leave dry weight, gross dry weight. The seeding height, organ dry or fresh weight provenance heritability of different sources in seedling periods all bigger than0.6000, the genetic control achieve middle or above level. The ground diameter provenance heritability in seedling stage is less than0.5000, under the low grade genetic control.(4) The nutritive element content of different sources, P, Mg content in root, K, P, Ca, Mg content in stem, N, Ca in leaves exists significant or extremely significant different. The provenance heritability of N, P, K, Mg content in root, N, P, K, Ca, Mg in stem, N, K, Ca^Mg content in leaves all bigger than0.5600, the genetic control achieve middle or above level. The provenance heritability of Ca content in root, P content in leaves all less than0.5000, means it is under the control of the low genetic control.(5)Base on the main content analysis result to select seedling height, leaves dry weight, gross dry biomass live weight, leaf area to be the main content for combined selection index analysis, the result is Quanzhou of Guangxi>Jinping of Yunnan>Liping of Guizhou>Anji of Zhejiang>Wuyishan of Fujian.(6) Survey after planted1year later, the highest survival rate trial plot is Xianshui pilot (85.00%), second is Gaofeng pilot (80.00%), lowest one is Huangmian pilot (51.67%). The survival rate after planted1year of different pilot shows extremely significant different, trial pilot survival rate of different sources shows insignificant different. The provenance heritability young tree height of different provenances in planted one year all less than0.5000, means it is under the low grade genetic control.
