Objective To investigate the concentration and clinical significance of serum and urine monocyte chemoattractant protein-1in patients with IgA nephropathy. Methods Forty patients with IgA nephropathy were divided into macroalbuminuria group and microalburnin-uria group in terms of24-hour urinary protein, the control group were composed of twenty healthy persons. The level of serum and urine MCP-1of experimental and control group were detected by ELISA. Results The urine concentration of MCP-1in patients with IgAN increased significantly. The concentration, of macroalbuminuria group was higher than microalbuminuria group and control group respectively. The concentration of microalbumin-uria group was higher than control group, too. Serum MCP-1levels was no significant dif-ference between the experimental and control group. Conclusion MCP-1is related to the pathogmy of IgA nephropathy. The level of urine MCP-1may be a non-invasive clinical indicator that can evaluate tubulointerstitial function of IgA nephropathy.
