In the late period of The Eastern Zhou Dynasty,The power of Royal was fadingwhile The vassals were rising,The Eastern part of Hubei province was located at theedge of territory of The Eastern Zhou Dynasty,and which was under an intense politicalimpact and the ensuing culture shock.The area had been under the influence of centralplains culture and fused with South Baiyue culture,since The Shang Dynasty and Thewestern zhou Dynasty.What’s more,it also fused with the Wu Yue culture and Chuculture because of the clash between the Chu forces and Wu Yue nations.Politicalregion segmentation change,mass migration and ethnic classes of fate change,broughtrich and multi-level effects on the cultural fusion for this area.Tombs as a reflection ofpeople’s life and culture,provide important reference to today`s study on the social andcultural life of that time.This paper is based primarily on the Eastern Zhou period tombsunearthed in the eastern part of Hubei province,in accordance with the different level ofthe history, analysis the culture exchange and fusion of this area.This paper is mainly divided into four parts,respectively is The Spring and Autumnperiod cultural fusion,The early Warring States period cultural fusion, The late WarringStates period cultural fusion and conclusion. Influenced by the Central Plains culture,taking Hanyang Zhu Ji as the representative.In the early Spring and Autumn period, thearea roughly bounded by the Yangtze River.Central Plains culture has greater influenceat the area of Jiangbei, while Baiyue culture located mostly in the South Bank of theYangtze River, a long with partly Jianghuai culture and Wuyue culture. In the middle ofSpring and autumn period, Chu culture gradually increased,from the stage ofindependent existence of Chu culture to the stage of Chu,Central Plains, and Baiyueculture elements coexist in the same tomb. During the late Spring and autumn period,cultural fusion accelerated that Eastern part of Hubei province began to show someregional culture features. Enter the Warring States period, war turmoil and Chu’s"developing borderland" policy led to a large population migrate to the Eastern part ofHubei province, which brought a lot of new foreign cultural factors and furtherstrengthened cultural fusion. There are five main factors during this period of culturalfusion, such as Central Plains culture,indigenous culture,Baiyue culture,Wu Yue cultureand Chu culture.The main manifestations are:the identity of higher native aristocracy changed as Chu people,which indicated the native accept Chu as their master;some Chutomb contains the Central Plains and Baiyue cultural factors;some implements has avariety of cultural characteristics;Chibi Tucheng,where happened Chu people andindigenous people inhabited at the same cemetery.The late period of the WarringStates,due to Chu’s military defeat, population migration increased further, the politicalpower of Chu shifted to east and Qin culture Momentum into theroom,therefore,Eastern part of Hubei province Was facing further cultural fusion. Afterhundreds of years’political agitation and cultural integration of the Eastern Zhouperiod,Eastern part of Hubei province had gradually become a region of highlydeveloped civilization,though a remote and backward region formerly.
