The research of happiness began in 1950s and came into China inthe 1980s.Subjective well-being is overall evaluation what theindividual have made according to their own standards for their ownlife. It consists of three basis components:life satisfaction,positiveaffect and negative emotion. It is an importantly Comprehensiveindex for measure individual quality of life.The junior high schoolstudents are in the key period of both physiological and psychologicaldevelopment.Now,many junior high school students have differentlevels of mental health problems.The subjective well-being have awell predicting role on mental health, so it is necessary to studysubjective well-being of junior school students.It can be found thatemotional intelligence and parenting style play an important role onsubjective well-being from the influenting factors.This study focused on the status and characteritics of middleschool students emotional intelligence,parenting style and subjective well-being ,analysize the influence and direct role of bothemotional intelligence and parenting style for subjective well-beingand, and emotional intelligence’s mediating affect between parentingstyle and subjective well-being,explore the effective way to promotethe subjective well-being of the junior high school students,so as toprovide a theoretical basis for improving subjective well-being ofjunior high school students and mental health education of school.Found in the study of the influence factors on SWB,parenting styleplays an important role on subjective well being.The research ofemotional intelligence and subjective well-being in abroad is alreadyquite mature,but very scare in our country.In this study, Adolescent subjective well-being scale,questionaireof parenting style and emotional intelligence gauge were used as aresearch tool,600 students of two middle schools in ShanXi wereselected as the objects of the study and the survey data wasanalysized by SPSS software.Through this research ,we can draw the following conclusions :1. SWB of junior school students in above the average level,theirpositive emotions is more than negative emotion,there is no genderdifference,but there are significant urban and rural difference infamilies,school,environment,and overall life satisfaction. Inaddition,their subjective well-being have significant gradedefference(except for the free satisfaction).Specific performance as follows:first grade students have the highest overall lifesatisfaction,highest positive emotion and lowest negativeemotion,the third grade students have the lowest lifesatisfaction ,lowest positive emotion and highest negative emotion.2. In general,junior high school students parents take morepositive teaching style of emotional warmth,there is genderdifference on parenting style in father punished severely,excessiveinterference,refused to deny , mother too much interference andprotection . There are urban-rural differences on preference test andtoo much proctection factor,mother upbringing does not existurban-rural differences,but the grade difference exists in parents’emotional warmth and preference test.3. Junior high school students’emotional intelligence in abovethe average level,overall emotional intelligence does not existsignificant gender and urban-rural differences.There are genderdifferences in emotional perception and emotional regulation of otherpeople,girls scored significantly higher than boys,urban and ruraldifferences exist in emotional perception and emotionalself-regulation ,urban students were significantly higher than therural students. A significant grade difference exists in the overallemotional intelligence, and increases with increasing grade,there aresignificant grade differences in the dimensions of emotionalperception. 4. The total score of emotional intelligence and thedimensions,and junior high school students’subjective well-beingoverall life satisfaction, positive emotions ,negative emotions anddimensions have a significant positive correlation,father upbringingand subjective well-being of junior high school students was acentain degree of correlation ,emotional intelligence and parentingstyle have a significant relationship ,with emotional warmth andunderstanding positive factor was positivily correlated,withpreference was negativily correlated.5. Emotional intelligence and parenting style have a significantlypredicting role on the subjective well-being of the junior high schoolstudents.6. the overall emotional intelligence plays partial intermediaryrole between parenting style and subjective well-being.Amongthem,the overall emotional intelligence plays partial intermediaryroles between father emotional warmth and overall lifesatisfaction,plays partial intermediary role between father warmthand positive emotion,plays partial intermediary role between thefather punnished severely and negative emotions.
