The traditional Chinese painting refers to as the ancient painting of women, which is quiteimportant in Chinese Hinting history, Its history was traced back to the Warring Statesperiod, the Qin and Han Dynasties, and are still popular today. On account of social changeand development, the change of people’s aesthetic taste and the needs of the drawing itselfdemands us to constantly scan the value and significance of Chinese painting in Chinese art.Therefore, it is the key moment to research the artistic characteristics of Chinese paintingfrom Zhou Fang In Tang Dynasty, along with the political stability and the development ofeconomic prosperity of the feudal society, the transformation of ruling class taste andthought, traditional Chinese painting gradually got rid of the shackles of historical facts andreligious subjects, break through the defense of Confucianism, and appeared. Genrepainting depicting ladies life, traditional Chinese paintings has entered intoan unprecedented open epoch. Painting subject matter, content and scope has been enlargedunprecedentedly, which makes Tang art showing great keen for creation andperformance of the new theme, then the traditional Chinese painting came into being as anew kind of art with its new theme. Zhou Fang is to describe this kind of new themes andthe most representative one of the painters. In his works to enhance the aesthetic appeal ofage, highlighting the artistic charm, and create a harmonious and be full of adornmentlasting appeal form of art, using a highly generalization and stylized technique, the shapehad a string of “plump thick body", which reveals the model has the characteristics of TheTimes Tang Dynasty female image, and through the graceful posture and implicitexpression, realistically reveals the inner world of the characters. He created the typicalstyle, reflected the outstanding achievements in brushwork traditional Chinese painting onthe tang dynasty. He pushed the painting advance to a new aesthetic height, so that hebecame a insurmountable peak. His painting art is known as "Zhou Jia yang", far-reachinginfluence on later art. This paper proposed by Zhou Fang’s work on the picture with the pen,the analysis of color, composition and painting, to study the art characteristics of the ancientpainting of women, and by using the literature, comparative and push search methods todiscusses the causes, in order to sentiment the ancient painting of women’s deep level, andextensive social value, attributed to the positive impact of the maid painting and buddhistmural. Also provide a realistic basis for us to restore the features and aspects of life in theTang Dynasty, provide the reliable basis of the Tang Dynasty aesthetic characteristics andsocial phenomenon. The article is divided into four sections elaborate argument: first, thefirst chapter introduces Zhou Fang and the overall condition of this picture, and with thein-depth analysis to draw the art’s characteristics. Then through the second chapter tracingwith Zhou Fang why he shapes “plump thick body" as its image of the grand artcharacteristics, the third chapter research the art effect of " theory of six principles of painting " to the ancient painting of women. Finally, through the fourth chapter summarizesthe value and significance of Zhou Fang’s ancient painting of women.
