Verb is a central part of expression and sentence use. Consequently, understanding itsmeaning and usage will have a direct influence on the application of a sentence.Psychological verb is a small form of verb, whose using frequency is relatively high.Psychology verb is considered as a difficult point for Chinese learners.Each language concludes culture and cognitive psychology. There are meaning andusing differences among the languages’ words, even behavioral verb which has an extremelyclear meaning; however, it can have a great number of the differences in meaning andsentence embellishing, let alone the words of awareness, emotion and psychology expression.As a result, foreign students are more likely to make mistakes when they are learningpsychological verbs in Chinese. And Vietnamese students are no exception to that number.From this fact, I decided to choose psychological verb is my object of study. This paperstudied semantic and syntactic functions of psychological verbs in modern Chinese, collatedwith Vietnamese. In addition, the Vietnamese learners’ mistakes frequently made during theirstudy were figured out. Through the survey, the researchers summarized the types of errors ofVietnamese students, and then found out theConsequently, studying Vietnamese students’ mistakes when they are learningpsychological verbs of Chinese has a significant and important role, helps Vietnamesestudents solve any problems during the studying process of Chinese psychological verbs, andis a great suggestion for teaching a second language.This paper is divided into four chapters: the chapter1is the beginning part, mostlyintroduces the contents, the meanings, the methodologies and the overview of the currentresearch on Chinese psychological verbs. The chapter2chiefly summarizes the errors ofVietnamese students in studying psychological verbs. In the chapter3, the causes of makingstudents’ mistakes are analyzed through mother tongue, Chinese and teaching methodologies.The chapter4provides some analytical methods in teaching.
