Global Village is the integrated cul-linguistic training center. It focuses on both culture andlanguage and is dedicated to its collection, exhibitions, research, public education, and culturalcommunication.We have11villages here in total, they are: Chinese Village, UN Village, South KoreanVillage, Japanese Village, Italian-speaking Village, Portuguese-speaking Village, GermanVillage, Russian Village, Spanish Village French-speaking Village and English-speaking Village.Each village presents its culture as highlight; each cultural element carries rich culturalconnotations, embodying the integration of culture and language.For the contrast between Chinese language and English language, the Chinesecommentary tend to use a lot of big words, or all too often, many modifiers, to make thesentence beautiful to read and appreciate; however, as for English language, is a low contextlanguage which usually uses the diction with explicit, direct and simple words.The first chapter talks about the introduction of the project, the current situation of thecommentary translation; the second chapter deals with the preparation the translator did for thisproject; the third chapter is about the translation techniques and the solutions to the problemsoccurred during the translation, the translator’s experience during the process of translation; thelast chapter is the conclusion.
