With the growing of China’s economy and rising international status,China is having a great influence in the worldwide.The Chinese also has attracted more and more learners from all over the world. Chinese language course has been brought into many countries’mainstream education system.With China’s relevant policies getting comprehensive,more and more Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms are springing up,which provide a more formal, scientific teaching for Chinese learners. Chacter,as known as the carrier of chinese,is a necessary part in teaching chinese as a foreign language.it is the foundation of learnning Chinese and comprehending the culture of china. However.for the learners whose language is alphabetic letters,the studying of chinese is always a difficuty.This article is composed with six parts:Introduction:Setting questions.Overview the historical and cultural significance of Chinese characters.What’s more,there is also a scan of the tuff condition in Chinese teaching.Chapter:Described the task of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.The teaching contents of Characteristics are the rules and patterns like shape, sound and meaning.It is useful to help learners obtain the skills to read and write Chinese characters.Starting with the relationship between Chinese characters and Chinese culture,we carried out the meaning of character in inheriting five thousand years of Chinese civilization, cultural heritage, and promote international exchanges and cooperation in different aspects described in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.Chapter2:An overview of the current situation of the development of the characters teaching.We pointed the inadequacies in this stage some of the attention,guidance of the theory and curriculum.Chapter3:First, analysis-ed the particularity of Chinese characters which resulting the difficulties in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Composed by the strokes of Chinese characters is the morpheme text,its writing system is completely different from the majority of the nation in the world, whose letters are spelling from a phonetic system.Cognitive processes are including sound and shape, and meaning of the combination,Much more complex than the cognitive process of phonetic.Then we made a specific elaboration form these aspects following "hard to write","hard to read" and "hard to remember".Chapter4:We have a discussion of principles and methods in teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from six perspectives.1.Division of the language (speech and spoken language) and cultural (Chinese characters),early Chinese characters should be in accordance with its law of own teaching.2.Strengthen the Characters Teaching,Words and letters should be complemented with each other.3.From the particularity of Chinese characters,grasping of theoretical knowledge of Chinese characters and composition rules,memorizing Chinese characters with ideographic and phonetic function.4.Teaching Chinese Characters according to the strokes, parts, and the whole word,start with the different aspects of strokes, stroke order, components, structure,and mode.5.Pay attention to contrast,strengthen the review and consolidate,and we should have repeated writing practice memorizing Chinese characters.6.Rational use the modern multimedia technology in teaching Chinese Characters.Chapter5:A brief summary of the development status of the characters teaching,re-emphasizing its significance and have a anticipate for its future development.
