In the research of the history of the Zhou Dynasty in Anhui Jianghuai region, we have to study the development of its bronzes. In the recorded history of the pre-Qin Dynasty, there are little about the Yangtze-huaihe region of Anhui, and it also can not reflect the whole picture of history of this area. In order to know more about of pre-Qin history of the region, we need more helps of archaeological discoveries and research. The book Zuo Zhuan said the most important affairs of state are sacrifice and war, and the main functions of bronze are sacrifice and war too. Combined with the huge number, bronzes also contain amount of information. It can be said that bronzes are the most important archaeological discoveries for the study of the history of Zhou Dynasty.In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Bronzes of Spring and Autumn period is the main part comparing with the Warring States period. With the decline of the royal, the feudal lord became more powerful in Eastern Zhou Dynasty. For the bronzes, the region characteristics of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty are more prominent. Therefore in the research of bronzes of Eastern Zhou Dynasty, scholars usually do sub-regional study with cultural characteristics. The Spring and Autumn Bronze is abundant, beautifully produced and more complicated.This paper is about the archaeological discovery and research overview on bronzes of Spring and Autumn period in Anhui Jianghuai Region. After an overview of previous discovery, the paper has an overview on the previous studies in three levels:the characterization, the periods and the culture. The article attempts to help to study the history of the Spring and Autumn Anhui Jianghuai region.
