Teaching design is deemed the blue print of classroom teaching and plays an important roleespecially in TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language). To achieve good teaching effects, thecompilation of the teaching design must not be neglected. Directional complement has been the key anddifficult point in the field of TCFL, so how to teach it and its extended use efficiently has been the majorconcern of the TCFL teachers. This thesis selects lesson four Kuai Shanglai Ba, Yao Kaiche Le and lessonnine Yaoshi Wang Ba Xialai Le in book2A and lesson seventeen Wo Xiang Qilai Le in book2B of ChineseCourses directed by Yang Jizhou as study objects to conduct the teaching design of directional complement.The introduction of this thesis introduces the significance, current situation and method of theresearch while the main body is composed of three chapters. Chapter one deals with the theory ofinterlanguage and its error analysis, teaching design theory of TCFL, ontology of Directional Complementand the error analysis of Directional Complement in TCFL, which provides a theoretical foundation for thefollowing teaching design. Chapter two is concerned with the basis for this teaching design. On the basis ofthe analysis of the teaching materials and class model, the teacher-directed and student-centered teachingprinciple was established and figure illustration, deduction and other methods were combined as theteaching method. Chapter three is thus the formation of teaching designs and three designs of SimpleDirectional Complement, Complex Directional Complement and extended uses of Directional Complementwere conducted according to the lesson contents. They were respectively carried out on lesson four, lessonnine and lesson seventeen. The last part is the conclusion, stating the tentative points and shortcomings ofthis thesis.
