With the fast development of knowledge economy, the time dominated by capital and technology has become the history. The creative time is approaching. As the industrial structure is continuously upgraded and further developed, and the innovative and cultural industry is experiencing a fast development and integrates with the economic sector, the clustered development is formed in some regions. However, China’s creative and cultural industry develops slowly. The creative and cultural enterprises have not fully developed and are lack of core competitiveness. The creative and cultural industry is based on both creativity and culture. Facing the fierce competition, how to take advantage of Chinese unique cultural heritage, how to use our strengths and avoiding weaknesses, and how to improve the core competitiveness for creative and cultural enterprises to survive and achieve the sustainable development is one of urgent issues that need to be addressed.Firstly, this paper starts from the concepts of creative and cultural industry and enterprises, and studies the development background and significance. It also compares the status quo of the development of Chinese creative and cultural industry and its foreign counterpart. It identifies the weaknesses and advantages and explores the development trend. Through analyzing the external macro-environment of creative and cultural enterprises and internal development constraints, it further analyses the core competitiveness for Chinese creative and cultural enterprises. The research results show that innovative talents and enterprise branding shall be the core competitiveness for Chinese creative and cultural enterprises. Finally, combined the actual corporate case analysis, this paper proposes opinions and suggestions on the construction and development of core competitiveness for Chinese creative and cultural enterprises.
