Predicative-object verb(VO) is a certain proportion of The Grade Chinese Syllables,Characters and Words for The Application of Teaching Chinese to The Speaks of OtherLanguages and Developmental Chinese which is the textbook of TCFL. We can get446VOsby sifting altogether, there are83VOs that can take object and363VOs which can not takeobject. Present frequency of a small number of morpheme which consist of these VOs is fairlyhigh, and have certain productivity and prototypicality. The explanation of VO in <Contemporary Chinese Dictionary> and the English explanation of VO in text do not benefitthe understand and master for foreign students, With "morpheme meaning+structuralmeaning" interpretation of the way of understanding the meaning of the verb can be achievedin deduce simplicity into complexity effect. VO+NP is a special phenomenon of Chineselanguage. From the point of view of semantics, VO can take8different type of object. Thereason why VO can take object is the common function of VO verbalization、metaphorical、assimilation and the economy principle of language.The second language learners is influenced by native language transfer ect., and there aretwo errors in studying and useing the predicative-object verb: Intransitive VO is followed byobject mistakenly and the incorrect use of prepositions. Through the analysis of the errors ofstudents, students should be guided and avoid errors’ occurrence before the student errorsoccurred, after occurred it is corrected and prevented in time.It is important point for TCFL teaching that VO is judged and the meaning of VO ismastered correctly and effectively. In the teaching we can adopt the way which we judge theVO with the standard of morpheme, we master the meaning of VO with comprehensiveapplication of teaching methodology of morphemes semantic collocation method anddiagrammatic method. It is difficult point for TCFL teaching that the correct judgment ofVO type、the use of VO and the understanding of VO+NP. In the teaching we can adoptquestion and scene design teaching strategy to help students of a correct judgment verb typesof VO;make students learn to use VO by the memory and rational analysis of VO;let studentslearn how to analyze and understand the significance of the VO+NP structure by changeanalysis and practice.
