Related method is a way which gathers the related words and make up a polymer byusing the relations between words. When the students learn a single word, they will alsoconnect with some other words in the same polymer. Related method is an important methodon Chinese teaching for foreigners. It has a positive significant meaning to both thetheoretical research and practice exploration of Chinese words teaching.Why the related method is able to use in the elementary stage words teaching of Chineseteaching for foreigners? First of all, it depends on the characteristics of elementary stagewords teaching of Chinese teaching for foreigners. The structure of the Chinese word has a lotof features. This reason provides so many opportunities for related method. In addition, theteaching object, content of courses and teaching task provide the condition for the relatedmethod. And the insufficiency of the Chinese words teaching practice point out the directionof how to use the related method in the Chinese words teaching.The semantic field theory, sentence relationship and associative relationship constitutethe theory foundation for how to relate the related method and linguistics. From typeperspective, Related method is divided into six kinds of forms: synonymous; antonymy;hyponymy; words extensional; words associated. This classification constitutes the usingfoundation of related method in teaching practice.In the practice of Chinese teaching for foreigners, related method is mainly show inwords paraphrase, words consolidate and teaching plan, etc. In the practice of the Relatedmethod, we should pay attention to the related of mother language and Chinese culturalbackground knowledge.
