Chinese measure word has been one of the difficulty of teachingChinese to foreign students. From the present studies, the situation offoreign learners using measure word is not satisfactory. These learnersoften feel frustrated when they face a wide variety of Chinese measurewords and the flexible usages. For the measure word teaching andlearning, grammatical analysis, the traditional way of language teaching,often makes teachers felt difficult to start, also let learners find it difficultto learn by analogy.There are lots of problems in teaching of noun classifier, such asbooks are over emphasis on it’s grammar function instead of how tomatch them with nouns, so when the students learn these words, theyalways feel very tough. Meanwhile, measure words and exercises aremainly in primarily stage, intermediate and advanced stage arrangementis relatively short of them. Third, teachers didn’t realize the importance ofnoun classifier.The object of the paper is Developing Chinese and Chinese MadeEasier, analyze the problem in noun classifier teaching and learning, putforward a few suggestions for teaching according to the situation.
