Philosophy is composed of philo and sophia in ancient Greek. Themeaning is “loves the wisdom”. The purpose is to teach the student thewisdom and the mode of thinking. The philosophy teaching has thesignificant function to students comprehensive quality and ideation.Based on various reasons, philosophy teaching in five-year highervocational college has not achieved to the ideal goal. It doesn’t makeit to impart knowledge and educate people. This article is to aim atphilosophy teaching condition of five-year higher vocational college.The writer has made an investigation in Wuxi Higher Vocational Schoolof Tourism and Commerce. Through the basic situation analysis, thewriter has found some problems in the current philosophy teaching. Forexample, students attitude to learning, teachers teaching way andown accomplishment and so on. This article seeks for reasons in theteaching idea, the teaching material, the teaching method, theteaching media and their own accomplishment. By analyzing thecause, the writer offers relevant measurements to improve the teachingeffect of philosophy teaching.
