With the warming up chinese language all over the world,there are more and more people learning chinese.But generally even if the learners have known some certain knowledge well, communication barriers of something or others will still appear.As to the reason,it’s that learners don’t know much about the Chinese culture so that they don’t understand the behavioral habits and thought patterns of the Chinese. Therefore, we must realize the importance of culture teaching, and try to eliminate the cultural communication barriers in order to improve the learners’intercultural communicative competence.Making use of the means such as document retrieval,classroom observation, summarizing and actual interviewing, this essay is aimed at analyzing the cause of formation of the intercultural communication barriers emerging in the process of Thailand students’ learning. Moreover, taking example by the scholars’research achievements,the writer tries to make some suggestions about how to increase intercultural communicative competence of learners of Chinese language in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The basic content of the passage includes four parts. The first is about the expression forms of Thailand students’intercultural communication barriers, which comes down to linguistic elements,non-verbal communication and so on. The second is analysis of the reasons why Thailand students’ intercultural communication barriers emerge, from the aspects of society, individual and teaching. The third is about the research of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and its fatal effect for eliminating intercultural communication barriers,from the aspects of the importance of culture teaching,the teaching contents and practical teaching case. The forth is producing some strategies to improve intercultural communicative competence. And by the way of laying stress on the analysis of practical teaching cases,this essay try to illustrate the feasibility of these strategies.
