Since the Reform and Open Policy was implemented, China’s economy has kept developing healthily and rapidly, the overall national strength has been enhanced unremittingly, and the international status has been elevated gradually. In recent years, Chinese study is very popular all over the world. However, it is still an important mission to extend teaching Chinese as a second language. As there are various situations in different countries, Chinese teachers should design Chinese teaching in the light of local conditions.Although the Chinese in Sarasit school, Thailand, is a compulsory subject, there is a lack of the syllabus to guide Chinese teaching, a lack of the teaching materials as teaching reference, and a lack of effective supervision over Chinese teaching quality. The only requirement is to ensure the students are able to apply Chinese skills and to extend quality in a relaxed, pleasurable atmosphere. Therefore, the property of Chinese in Sarasit School is different from ecumenic foreign language compulsory subjects. The exact position of the Chinese course should be quality-extending class.According to the author’s one-year Chinese teaching practice in Sarasit School, based on the different curriculum property of Chinese course from common compulsory subjects, in order to reinforce the pertinence of Chinese teaching and to promote the standard of Chinese teaching, the thesis designs operative Chinese teaching as a quality-extending class, proceeding from the reality. This thesis analyzes the general situations of Sarasit school, designs Chinese class in macro, middle and micro levels based on the speciality that the school regards Chinese class as a quality-extending class, and rethinks and summerizes the instructional design. This design is of great operability, which can serve as a reference for teaching Chinese to the speakers of other languages.
