After accumulating and data-processing a body of literature relevant to the research, and based on theories of the prototype theory and categorization in cognitive linguistics, image schema and cognitive pattern, semantic category and semantic feature analysis and metaphorical recognition, the thesis addresses the fundamental problems of oversea students during their use of Chinese nominal measure words drawn from the questionnaire survey of55Japanese oversea students, and attempts to propose solutions and advice for the level teaching of nominal measure words in teaching activity.The thesis is comprised of four chapters.The first chapter states measure words and nominal measure words in Chinese, measure words in Japanese and the background, achievement and development of teaching and research of Chinese nominal measure words; explains the subject, content and significance of the thesis; points out its innovation and specifies its research process and methodology.Chapter2is a thorough survey on the Japanese oversea students’use of Chinese nominal measure words. The chapter analyzes the design of the questionnaire through its survey subjects and structure, and expounds its causes of error.Chapter3focuses on the comparative analysis of semantic characteristics of nominal measure in Chinese and Japanese. It expounds the theory of cognitive linguistics including categorization and cognitive theory in prototype mode, image schema, semantic category and semantic feature analysis, and metaphorical recognition. Based on these theories, the chapter divides the nominal measure words in Chinese and Japanese into two categories:isomorphic synonym and heteromorphy synonym, the later is further divided into four sub-categories.Chapter4serves both as an exploration of teaching methodology of nominal measure words in Chinese and Japanese and a solution proposal of level teaching of nominal measure words Chinese nominal measure words teaching activity in Japan based on the comparative study in Chapter3after analyzing the current teaching situation. The last part not only includes conclusion but also specifies the places needed further elaboration, but also propose research direction and method for the future. |
