| With the globalization and integration of the economy, business translation hasplayed a bigger role in the international activities and has become an emergingresearch field of the translation. However, as is shown in the literature, the domesticbusiness translation is mainly focused on the fields such as contract, advertisement,and business English, while there is little research on the academic thesis. Accordingto the previous major and the research field of the translation, the translator selectsand translates the master thesis of international trade from Shandong University. Theframe of the corresponded translation report is as follows:The first chapter is the task description, mainly describing how the translatorchooses the original text and how to translate it into English. The second chaptersummarizes the characteristics of the original text in terms of professional field,language style, discourse, and translation analysis. The third chapter is the mostimportant part of the whole report in which the translator shares her translationrevelation with the readers. The translator shows the problems encountered during thetranslation and responded solutions at first and then describes the translationrevelation in terms of the word choosing, wording, phrasing, discourse, integral styleand creative translation. The fourth chapter presents the tools and resources thetranslator uses during the whole translation. Then the fifth chapter shows the residualproblems. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, which sums up the whole content of thereport and the revelation of the translator.Compared with the previous translation reports, the innovation of this report liesin selecting the translation filed. The translator chooses the professional academicthesis instead of the traditional field. What is more，the translator tries to provide thebeneficial reference for the future graduates of MTI by analyzing the translationcharacteristics and strategies of the similar academic thesis. |
