The Study Of Code Mixing In E-discourse From The Perspective Of Dynamic Adaptation

Code Mixing,as a common phenomenon in language communication,has been drawing great attention by most scholars since1970s.Scholars explored it from different perspectives by different methods,such as conversation analysis,sociolinguistics,psycholinguistics, grammar and pragmatics,thus remarkable achievements has been received.Of all the approaches to the research of code mixing, pragmatic approach is the most persuasive and promising as it simultaneously involves the linguistic,social,cultural elements in a dynamic context and it represents a scientific,concrete and comprehensive explanation to the study of code mixing.Adaptation Theory,proposed by Jef Verschueren is a new perspective in pragmatics. Chinese famous scholar Yu Guodong systematically studied code mixing on the basis of Verschueren’s Adaptation Theory and then put forward Yu Guodong’s Adaptation Model for code mixing,clearly categorized code mixing into three distinct kinds of adaptation,as adapts to linguistic reality,social convention and psychological motivation.Under this theoretical framework,this thesis refers to code mixing in E-discourse as the research object,conducts a careful research of adaptability,negotiability and variability of code mixing in E-discourse through qualitative study as attempts to explain the reasons and pragmatic functions of code mixing, meanwhile through the combination of qualitative study and quantitative study as aims to illustrate the code mixing distribution pattern in E-discourse.The research based on the E-discourse,which is popular,through exploration,testified Yu Guodong’s code mixing Adaptation Model and further developed it,The thesis aimed to help people further understand the occurrence of code mixing in different E-discourse,meanwhile demonstrated the influence of English upon Chinese,reflects the fact of interrelation,interconnection,interlocking and intermingle between the two languages.So this research has inspiring and realistic significance for people to choose code mixing effectively and to accomplish their communicative goals.
