Moral identity is a self-conception which determined by the social self schema thatreflect his inner moral consistency and continuity, is the expectation to their own moralidentity. People who have a moral identity, his moral is in the core of self-conception. Middleschool students’ moral identity research in theory can enrich the vision of psychology andidentity theory, in practice it can provide guidance for the moral education and socialdevelopment of middle school students. Previous studies have shown, moral identity andmoral behavior have significant correlation, moral identity can predict moral behavior. Thisstudy tries to discuss the characteristic and present situation of middle school students’ moralidentity and prosocial behavior, and explore the correlationship between moral identity andprosocial behavior of the middle school students,then probe the prediction of moral identityon prosocial behavior.This thesis takes the middle school students as subjects, Based on overviews of formerresearch and combined with the open questionnaire and middle school students’ actualcharacteristics, The study revise the moral identity questionnaire of middle school students.Then using this questionnaire and Adolescents’ Prosocial behavior Tendency Scale (PTM)tested with actual donation behavior on middle school students, finally as prosocial behaviorindex of further investigation of moral identity and prosocial behavior, the main conclusionsare as follows:1The revised moral identity questionnaire of middle school students are in all24subjects, which include the implicit and explicit dimensions, has good reliability and validity,The indicators of this revised scale are in line with the requirements of psychometrics.2The moral identity of middle school students statusMiddle school students’ moral identity in sex and grades have significant differences onthe In the overall and implicit dimension scores were significantly higher than that of boysand girls, in explicit dimensions no significant difference between male and female. Middleschool students’ moral identity in grades total scale factors have significant differences, andthe various dimensions of the grade difference also very remarkable. 3The current situation of middle students’ prosocial behavior tendencyProsocial behavior tendency have significant gender differences, male and femalestudents on altruism, open two factor scores than girls boys, and in the total scale andemotional, compliance, anonymous, emergency four factors not significant gender differences;prosocial behavior tendency in the general and each factor have significant differences ingrades.4The relationship of middle school students’ moral identity and prosocial behaviortendencyIn the total score and each dimension, Moral identity and prosocial behavior tendencyand its factors were significant positive correlation. implicit and explicit dimensions of Moralidentity and the dimensions of prosocial behavior tendency have very significant predictiveeffect.5The relationship of middle school students’ moral identity and the actual prosocialbehaviorMoral identity on prosocial behavior has predictive function, that explicit dimensions ondonation behavior has positive effect, but the total scores and the Implicit Dimensions on thedonation behavior did not significantly predict.
