The Comparative Study On Dongyang Architecture Woodcarving Of Ming And Qing Dynasties

After one thousand years of practice, dongyang woodcarving is one kind of most famous folk woodcarving, and was named of the chief of zhejiang three carving, four woodcarving in China, dongyang architecture woodcarving is the most representative category in four categories of the Ming and Qing dynasties dongyang woodcarving, such as architecture woodcarving,furniture woodcarving, woodcarving, religious woodcarving,display woodcarving.This paper takes existing architecture of Ming and Qing dynasties as the main study object in Dongyang area, and choose typical case to study.It is to prove the similarities and differences of woodcarving, in Ming and qing dynasties.and analyse he reasons for the differences. According to analysis, it is based on the similarity that dongyang Ming and qing dynasties architectures woodcarving has qbvious difference on the theme.carving techniques and artistic style. The general characteristics of architecture woodcarving is that it is contracted and straightforward in Ming dynasty, and trival in Qing dynasty. The change takes in late Ming and early Qing dynasty. It was mainly due to the change of the architectural form, traditional etiquette flexibility, the introduction of traditional opera, the integration of traditional paintings.
