Adaptation is a strategy in translation to deal with the original texts flexibly without changing the author’s original intention. Based on the translation of two chapters from Deaf Sentence, this thesis will elaborate on how to apply the strategy of adaptation at lexical and syntactical levels in the process of translation. The purpose is to ensure the translated text not only conveys the original meanings but also conforms to the tastes of target text readers by the translator’s efforts to overcome the linguistic and cultural differences to a maximal level. |
