It has been a long time since the humanity and science division, which has five historical development stages as following:infancy, development, imitation and renunciation, recovery and Chinese characteristics, reform and diversification.There are a lot of argument about this subject, which could be divided into two factions:support or oppose the humanity and science division. The former faction suggest that the humanity and science division is able to promote the development of students’ personality, protect the quality of high school education, reduce students’ academic burden, help college selection of outstanding talent, and meet the requirements of the Large-scale socialized production. The latter faction suggest that the division rooted in utilitarian is not conducive to the overall development of students, and hinder the implementation of the quality education and the new curriculum reform, fragmented training objectives, and is not necessarily reduce the burden of students.Integrating the questionnaire data and interview data collected through surveys and studies and analyzing the trends of division of Liberal arts and Science in the underground of the new curriculum reform, we should react with the following aspects:reforming the training objectives, training compound talents with comprehensive knowledge Liberal arts and Science; adjusting the course structure and contents, opening school-based courses, specialty courses, comprehensive practive curriculum and a variety of extra-curricular activities; optimizing the teaching methods, comprehensively using the method of creation of situations, the method of cooperative inquiry and self-learning method; beginning the comprehensive teaching of Liberal arts and Science to bring the students comprehensive training contents; perfecting appraisal system, optimizing the examination system and establishing a comprehensive and fair evaluation system; improving the overall quality of teachers, laying a solid knowledge of the discipline and enhancing the level of knowledge of the interdisciplinary.
