Research Of History And Current Situation Of Teaching Chinese In The Russian Khabarovsk Territoiy

Nowadays, people from every country are more and more interested in othercultures, because different culture, language and customs arouse interest. Everyperson desires to understand other cultures, cultural background of other countries,as learning native language, one just can perceive own culture, but learning otherlanguages, one can perceive unfamiliar and interesting cultures. In other words, inthe process of communication every person’s culture and current situation has asignificant influence on making communication. So people are eager to comprehendforeign language and different cultures to make interaction smooth and polite.Communication between cultures is called “Cross-cultural communication”.Russians, studying the Chinese language and Chinese culture, subconsciouslyperform cross-cultural communication, because while getting to know differentculture, they cherish their own culture and undoubtedly learners will compare thosecultures and feel the difference between them. Clearly speaking, every learner offoreign language gets to know another culture. Considering it, teachers of foreignlanguage should know how to get effective results while teaching foreign language.As for current situation of foreign language in Russia is concerned, English wasespecially popular since19thcentury. But now Russians draw attention to Chineseand Chinese culture, that’s why we chose “Research of History and Current Situation ofTeaching Chinese in the Russian Khabarovsk Territory” as a topic of this thesis. In thispaper, we made an endeavor to explain the aim and situation of studying Chinese inRussia, teaching situation and methods of teaching Chinese, etc.Obviously, Chinese, nowadays, is the world required language. As for Russia，there are two reasons for that: Russian geopolitical relations and reform of China,successfully lasting for30years. Due to these reasons, the number of peoplelearning Chinese is increasing in number. As far as current situation of teachingChinese in Russia is concerned, some scholars have done research of fewuniversities on the same subject; it has to be mentioned that Russia possesses a vastterritory, however there are only few researches, aimed at Chinese teaching situationof the entire country or any territory, were made. The Khabarovsk Territory islocated in the Russian Far East and we have not happened to come across anyresearches, touched upon the situation of teaching the Chinese language in the Khabarovsk Territory.In this paper, the practical endeavor to conduct a research on severalUniversities, offering Chinese teaching in the Khabarovsk Territory was madethrough a paper survey, interviews, etc.; having carried out the research on thecurrent situation of Chinese teaching in Khabarovsk Territory, we now obtain thedata of teachers and students’ situation of several Universities of Khabarovsk, weresearched the Chinese syllabus of the Universities and deficiencies of teachingmaterials, pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of the applied methods ofteaching, analyzed the influence of teaching Chinese in the Khabarovsk Territory onworld-wide spread and prosperity of the Chinese Language; and according to myopinion, and several ideas were suggested. We draw our attention to the currentsituation of teaching Chinese in Khabarovsk territory, which was not investigatedthoroughly before. On this basis, we consider researching the current situation ofteaching Chinese in Khabarovsk territory as the most significant part of this paper.
