Analyzing The Reason For The Establishment Of Weijin Literati Music’s Characteristics

Literati Music as an important part of the traditional Chinese music is created personally or collectively by well-educated Intelligentsia. This kind of music is so special since it was named after a certain social class and it is also the evaluable carrier of ancient art features. There are two categories of literati Music:Guqin music and tunes music categories. The existing melodies can be called as the living fossil of the particular history. In Wei and Jin Dynasties, most of the social literati depressed due to the social unrest and high-pressure from hierarchy. However, music provided a paradise for those literati which resulted in the strong historical characteristic within literati music. This paper will begin with clarifying the structure of literati music from a development perspective. In order to enrich the current research of WeiJin Music, this thesis tend to analyze the characteristic of Literati Music and explore the reason for forming these characteristics through combining other co-related researching fields.
