Research On The Patterns Of Urban Community Care For The Aged In China

Pension is a complex social problem. The choice of its varied because of demand and times. With the degree of the ageing growing in China, The population of the elder greatly increased. Since the family planning policy implement in 1970s, the rate of birth declined and the one-child families rose, which make family size to shrink and led to family structure towards core and miniaturization. The function of family pensions and institutions pension weak, and pension problems become more prominent. On the background, the new community care model to become the inevitable trend of social development for the elderly population’s pension to provide more choices.The purpose of this study is to build the whole model of community care to improve the level of old-age service and the quality of old-age pension for older people. The mode let the life of elders comfort. Community care is a new type of pension mode that is much better than the family old-age pension and institutional pension and suits to China’s national conditions.In the existing research, lots of researches deem that family old-age pension and institutional pension is not fit to solve the pension problems, and the community care is the better choice. The definition of community care is that the elders live in their homes, and the community organizes and manages the relative the agency which provide the services. The services include care, spiritual consolation, and volunteer services, etc. In the process of community care model construction and development, various services and channels of source of funds has been established. Community care is an effective way to solve pension problems.This paper analyzes and improves the lack of existing research:First, the community care model lack of the overall planning and construction. Most of the studies just stop at the description of the problem. It is mainly about the disadvantage of family pension and institutions pension and provide the countermeasures. Secondly, the spirit consolation service is imperfect. The mental state has a direct impact on the elderly quality of older persons’life, so the specific services should also be clear. In the existing studies focus only on the proposed form of solace for the elderly, and only from the perspective of the elderly to study, the lack of spiritual consolation to their families research. The elderly happy is not just from our own. Only the elder and their family members are all happy, then the spirit of joy can be truly realized. Thirdly, it is lack of different studies on services for different older-age groups characteristics. Able to fully take care of themselves as living, semi-self-care and totally unable to take care of themselves to the daily needs of the elderly are different, then the elderly population in addition to life care, spiritual joy, the good health and fully self-care for the elderly to meet the demand of self need to be attention. This can realize the value of elder, better adapt to China’s ageing. I tried to define the content model of care in urban communities, start to analyze their relation to the family of the advantages between family pension and institution pension in order to determine the community care model should be established to deal with pension, and further build the community care model as a whole, clear and specific services, giving the elderly population a better pension.
