As a key component of the social construction, Social Work is such a professional activity that embodies the core values of the Socialism. Following its professional code of ethics, Social Work has been applying in social service and management and other areas, with the integrated use of professional knowledge, skills and methods, integrating social resources, coordinating social relationship, as to help the individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities in need, to provent and solve social problems, to recover and develop social functions, and to promote the harmony of the society. While our Reform and Opening policies achieve great success, we are experiencing the social transformation. The increasingly complication of the social problems and the mission to build a Harmonious Society make the Social Work the more in necessity. As an important force to the modern social administration and social services, Social workers are playing a crucial role in coordinating social relations, standardizing social behaviors, solving social problems, neutralizing social conflicts, promoting social justice, responding social risks and maintaining social stability. The team building of this force is becoming a hot topic, and it is quite an urgent task to be strenghened.This thesis aims to sort out the specialities of the Social Workers’ team building with the theories of human resources development and management, study the significances of these theories in guiding the team building work. Based on the thorough investigation regarding the basic situation and the preliminary achievements of the Social Workers’team building work in Chengdu, with the integrated use of the methods of documentary research, investigation research and empirical research, the thesis discusses the related deep-seated problems, and tries to find out the relevant constraints.In meeting with the real needs of the city, combining the results of the investigation, this thesis carries out suggestions from different views of management targets and modes, principals and functions, relationship with environment. In order to promote the Social Workers’team building, and secure its development to be Comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable, the thesis suggests:firstly, strenghen the management; secondly, built up and perfect the system; and finally, improve the related environment. With these measurs, we hope to explore a good way for the talents team building work in Chengdu with high efficiency.
