The elevator is a common type of electrical equipment in our daily life which is used in many places as shopping malls, airports and residential buildings. The elevator is an important part of modern architecture. With the development of manufacturing technology in the semiconductor and motor, the elevator technology has been greatly developed. Based on the latest developments of elevator technology and a comprehensive analysis the safety of special equipment, an new design methods of drive and control system which designed for PMSM is proposed in this paper.Depend on the basic principles of the elevator, the elevator drive and control system is divided into four modules of the control system, traction system, drive system and security system. According to the different needs of each module and a detailed analysis of the module role in the entire system, the complete design scheme is put forward, in order to choose the suitable device such as traction machine control chip and sensor selection, theoretical calculations of technical parameters for the key components are taken after the design completed.DSP TMS320F28335is the core control chip of the control system to which different signals of the sensors and security system are sent. The drive system is controlled by the control system to make the traction machine work according to the set. Because of its small volume, high efficiency and excellent control performance, PMSM is selected as the traction machine. The drive system adopts intelligent power module as the core device which work in accordance with the output signal of the control system and send fault signal back to the security system to ensure the elevator stable and reliable. CPLD EPM3128A is the core controller of the security system. To prevent accidents, the security system will respond to the failure rapidly by real-time analysis of feedback information from each module.Based on the completion of the design of the various modules and the selection of the devices, all the printed circuit boards are designed and made which meet the requirements of EMC. ALL the devices are installed under the guidance of electrical equipment standard installation specification.Finally, according to the needs of actual operation, the basic software architecture of the control circuit and the security circuit are designed and tested in which SVPWM is used for PMSM.The results of the test show that the elevator control system, drive system and security system are able to operate normally and meet the design expectations.
