Sliding skip-board switch is used widely in the world with high reliability and simple structure. It works with a cylindrical spring, which holds a plunger. The plunger sticks to the skip-board, which makes the moving contact and fixed contact switch on or switch off. Within all the parts in the switch, the performance of functional unit affects the people’s life quality. The rationality and reliability of structure have a indirect relationship with maintenance and users. Parametric design and parametric analysis were applied to the functional units of switch by using Solidworks and Hypermesh, and that reduced the design and analysis time. By combining the two soft wares, the designer can build the3D model quickly. After analyzing the topological relations and size relations, parametric design was carrying out. The3D model got from parametric design was used to stress analysis, mode analysis and parametric optimal design, and then the analysis results was checked by expert knowledge system, which could offer the designer some suggestions. The second development of CAD and CAE was combined together, that can help designer build and analysis the sliding skip-board switch automotive, and that is the only road of switch product design at the future.This topic takes the86-sliding-skip-board switch as the research object. We makes full use of Solidworks second development function, according to the existing product parameters. Through the introduction of idea based on the characteristics of parameterized modeling, the parametric design analysis system development process was discussed. Hypermesh structure analysis module was used for FEA and check, and if the parts could not meet the requirements, the expert knowledge system can give some suggestions for setting design parameters, and then the structure that can meet the requirements will be generated rapidly. Above is the development ideas of sliding skip-board switch functional units PDA.
