Task-based Teaching Method refers to teaching by organizing tasks which isdifferent from traditional teaching method. Task-based classroom teaching put tasksin the central position in the teaching. Task-based teaching method asserts “learningby doing and practice in study” which not only pays attention to the study of languageknowledge but also attaches importance to the expression of language meaning.Learners complete tasks with language knowledge they have learnt and achieves thegoal of language study by completing tasks. During the implementation of tasks, theteachers design tasks and make students take part in the tasks to experience thepractical use of language with their existing knowledge and experience and makeinteraction, exchange and cooperation during communication. Thus the students canobtain more participation opportunities which will bring the imitativeness andactiveness of learners into full play. Learning language naturally in practices willimprove the ability of students during unconscious study.As a new branch of study, the practicability of tourism Chinese has not beenbrought into full play in the tourism Chinese teaching. From the perspective of currentteaching status in China, the problems that learning and applying are out of step andthat the antiquated teaching model leads to poor learning efficiency and little learningeffect exist in the tourism Chinese teaching. With regard to the above-mentionedproblems, we adopt the task-based approach which is currently popular in field offoreign language teaching.This paper is targeted on the task-based approach integrated into the tourismChinese teaching as research contents. Based on the research and analysis on formerliteratures, this paper employs case approach to design how to integrate tasks in theclassroom teaching of tourism Chinese.This paper includes five chapters:Chapter One is introduction where topic selection background, selected title andmeaning of selected title are brought forward; theoretical basis; research method;research idea and research framework.Chapter Two primarily presents the origin and development of task-basedapproach and main ideas and makes summative overview on the research situation ofthe research contents in the sociolinguistic community, secondly briefly describes the research on domestic tourism Chinese teaching in term of what the tourism Chinese is,and finally introduces the researches on the combination between domestic tourismChinese teaching and task-based approach.Chapter Three analyzes the current situation and problems existing in the tourismChinese teaching in China.Chapter Four conducts argument beginning with the feasibility of integrating thetask-based approach into tourism Chinese teaching, expatiates the operational processof task-based approach in tourism Chinese teaching and raises requirements on thecourse teachers according to the course features because what the tourism Chineseteaching demands are double competency-type talents. Finally states the specificapplication of task-based approach in the classroom teaching of tourism Chineseteaching by taking two examples.Chapter Five gives a summary about the research in this paper and sets up hopeson the future development of tourism Chinese.
