With the development of economic globalization, overseas students withdifferent cultures, skin colors and languages have been coming to study in China,which results in a multicultural situation in universities and colleges of China. In themodern college education, cultivating the intercultural competence of students hasbecome one of most special strategies and important methods in fosteringinternational talents for the future. Dancing, as an important means of cultivatinginnovative talents with comprehensive qualities, has become very important inquality-oriented education, and its aesthetic function has been recognized worldwide.Moreover, as a way for conveying, inheriting and communicating different cultures,dancing, just a silent language, can reflect the traditional culture and its developmentof a certain country. Therefore, launching aesthetic education of dancing under thediversified background in universities and colleges of China is a very good way forbetter understanding and communication between Chinese culture and foreigncultures, which has important practical significance to the cultivation of collegetalents.This paper mainly includes the following five parts: the first part mainlydescribes the development of public dancing education in universities and colleges inChina, analyzes characteristics of students of dancing learning, and recognizes thevalue and function in improving college students’ comprehensive qualities; the secondpart, according to the multicultural background in regular universities and colleges,put forward practical significance of overseas students learning Chinese dances; thethird one mainly analyzes shortcomings and limitations in the current dancingcurriculum; the forth part gives suggestions and opinions according to t individualcases in universities and colleges of Jiang Xi Province. The author hopes to give abetter communicating platform between overseas students and Chinese studentsthrough dancing education, and finally seek common points while reservingdifferences and achieve harmony without uniformity in cultures.
