China is now building a harmonious society all citizens to build shared society is asociety of equals, is any social groups and individuals should receive the propertreatment of the social. China is a large agricultural country, the number of farmers isalmost more than half of the total population, is a major force in national political andeconomic life. However, since the reform and opening up, for various reasons, thelegitimate rights and interests of the farmers did not receive effective protection, there isno fair and enjoy the fruits of reform and opening up, reduced to the vulnerable groups insociety. Safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the farmers is not only a peasantpopulation accounted for the majority of countries must be addressed, but also theinherent requirements of building a harmonious society.The papers focus from political interests, economic interests, cultural interests andsocial interests in four specific description of the seriousness of farmers ’rights andinterests have been violated, warning us to effectively protect farmers’ rights has come toa critical state. Further analysis of the rights and interests of farmers suffered damage,including the injustice of the urban-rural dual system, education system, peasants qualityis low and the weak sense of community, resulting in farmers’ groups in the political,economic disadvantaged. Finally, from the perspective of building a harmonious societyproposed countermeasures to protect the interests of farmers. One of the most critical isto re-"top-level design of the system to achieve the integration of urban and rural areas;reform the education system, everyone enjoyed the right to education; smooth theinterests of farmers demands of channels and further improve the social security system.
